§ 2-27. Agenda.

  • Matters to be considered by council at a regular or special meeting shall be placed on a written agenda publicly posted by the administrator or city clerk at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the meeting. The deadline for agenda item requests for regular meetings is the Friday at noon before the meeting on the following Monday. The request must be in writing, and must explain the subject matter in detail. The person who wishes to appear at the meeting to speak must sign the written request, and supply such person(s) residence address and phone number. The request must be attached to a form provided to the person, and must be presented to the administrator. The mayor has the right to approve/disapprove agenda items. The FOI Act (Code 30-4-80) requires that an agenda for a regular or special meeting must be posted twenty-four (24) hours before the meeting. A schedule of regular meetings must be published at the beginning of each calendar year. As to special called meetings, the purpose(s) therefore will be stated in the Freedom of Information Act Notice, and no other matters shall be considered at that meeting.
